Yakuoin Temple

The main hall (a Cultural Property of National Importance) was rebuilt in 1529, and carries Muromachi architecture methods down to the present. It was authorized as (granted the right to become a) the Danrinsho (Scholar Temple) during the time of Lord Mitsukuni, and represents the prosperity of the day.

Rokujizoji Temple

It has been estimated as being built around 800 A.D., and the hundreds of years old weeping cherry tree is believed to have descended from a cherry tree belonging to Lord Mitsukuni (Koumon-sama).

Rokujizoji Temple

Zenjuji Temple

Besides the Taishidou in the main hall, there is also an enshrined statue of Prince Shotoku (produced in the Kamakura Era), that was dedicated by Lord Mitsukuni on the grounds, and is a national cultural property. (A yearly exposition is held on the morning of February 22)

Busshouji Temple

It is believed that “Hakkakudou” (the main temple) was built in Tenshou 13 (1585), and is considered a national cultural property. The octagonal temple is an exceptional design in Japanese architecture, and typical features of the age still remain.
